Greetings! My name is Laura Cushing, and I am writing a novel that involves the Monkees 20th Anniversary tour as an important backdrop to the story. This is a coming of age tale of four friends and the beautiful disaster that their lives evolve into - music is very important to the story. I was 16 when the Monkees toured my town - and while I have many memories of the concert (my first ever!) I would like to have others share their stories with me.Even if you did not attend a 20th Anniversary tour concert, I would love to get your perspectives on the Monkees, and what Monkee fandom meant/means to you. Please take a moment to visit the community for my story ( summerslast ) and fill out this survey if you've the time! You are also welcome to join the community if you like, as the story will be posted there as it is written, one chapter at a time.X-posted to many Monkee communities - apologies for any overlapping. If this is against the rules of your community, please feel free to delete.

It took her nametag and went inside to get pictures and autographs.Ah, that totally made my life. He's so nice in person and extremely charming. He winked at me like eight times. (fangirl squee time, bbz.)I've got some pictures so I'm gonna share them. :3( under the cut, dears.Collapse )Was anybody else at DragonCon?

As Monkees fans, I'm sure you are all aware of the dire situation regarding the Monkees induction into the RnR Hall of Fame. Well, over at Monkeesfic, we decided to do something about it. I drafted a letter, and the address at the top is to the induction inquiries people. If you read the letter and decide you agree with it, print it out, sign it, and send it. Feel free to contact anyone you know who will also sign and send a copy. The idea is that a bunch of envelopes will make a much bigger impact than a bunch of signatures on one paper. Also, the wonderful pippiehippie made a video for youtube to help this campaingn. The link is over at Monkeesfic. If I knew what I was doing, I would put a link here, but there you have it....
I think the rules said that this was allowed but if it isn't just delete this post. :]Does anybody have the audio of The Monkees singing "Nine Times Blue" on the Johnny Cash show? Or does anybody have the video of it, either will do. Thanks in advance.(If you have no idea what I'm talking about here's the youtube link.)
